Richard ”Rick” Caylor

Specializing in Urgent Care, Rick is Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, a Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse, Licensed Public Health Nurse, certified in Basic life support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Life support.

Richard C. “Rick” Caylor calls Red Bluff his home. From Couer D’ Alene in 1962, his family moved here to accommodate a transfer for his father for Diamond Internation.

Married for 50 years to his lifelong love, Geri- they have been together since 1971. They have three grown sons, Joshua (Tess), Jacob (Rachel) and Jared (Natalia), and ten grandchildren. Rick loves Tehama County and the North state. He always wanted to live here and work here.

Rick worked in the lumber, plywood and moulding mills locally as a young man. As well he simultaneously worked as a Night shift Captain and Reserve Captain at Red Bluff Fire Dept from 1976 to 1984. He worked as an EMT1 for local ambulance services in the 70s and early 1980’s. He obtained his Associates Degree in Emergency Medical technology in 1986 from Chemeketa Community College in Salem Or. His skills in Advanced life support were honed at Foothill Ambulance in Sacramento in the late 1980’s.

Rick and Geri traveled to Ecuador five times to serve at Para Sus Ninos Orphanage, in Quito with the Vineyard Church. As well as helped break ground for a new orphanage in Latacunga, served Senior Citizens, and helped build a church in the Amazon. “We fell in love with the people”.

A brief stint at Self Employment in the maintenance business from 1989 into 1996 and then in 1997 Rick started at Shasta Regional Medical Center (SRMC) in Redding as a telephone operator, then ER technician, then Nurses Aid then finally ER nurse for 11 years. Rick concurrently worked as a per-diem nurse at St. Elizabeth and Mercy Redding ER in the early 2000’s

Rick also served as the Disaster Coordinator, Pre-Hospital Liaison, and Trauma Coordinator at SRMC, becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2010. Additionally, he worked five years at Cardiac Rehab part time for extra shifts.

Family Nurse Practitioner became a reality thanks to the Good Lord and his wonderful wife’s support, in 2010 for Rick. He earned Undergraduate Degree from Holy Names university in Oakland. He achieved a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Sonoma State University, Rohnert Park CA in 2010.

Rick began his career in Red Bluff as an NP (Nurse Practitioner), at Lassen medical Group Red Bluff. 2013 marked the beginning of his transition to a traveling role as an NP throughout California.

Primary Care, Urgent Care, Emergency Department, Acute Psychiatric Care, Hospitalist, Worker’s Compensation, treating all ages; encompassed the years that followed. Rick wife joined him in his travels several years ago as Rick’s work took them throughout the state. He eventually incorporated as Richard C. Caylor MSN, NP-C, Advanced Practice Nursing Corporation. Rick enjoys writing, his dog Yogi, cat Daisy, their Chickens and Ducks, Hunting, camping, and traveling.
